Governor DeSantis,

You ran a campaign promising to restore FL's ecosystem.

Instead you have stood by as the devastation to our environment has cost us a loss of life, tourism, fishing, and leisure. No one is going to want to visit FL without beaches.

Without beaches FL is a swamp without affordable housing, a poor social safety net, police departments with lower clearance rates than our similarly populated peers- CA, TX, NY.

How many people do you think will be unable to work because there's no fish to sell?

How many boat captains will have to stay docked for months?

Whose going to cruise out of Tampa when the air burns your lungs?

You failed to protect Floridians from Covid.

You emboldened white supremacy.

You kneecapped the will of the people on ballot measures such as Amendment 4 the felon reenfranchisment effort.

You gleefully called to rip apart first amendment protections to protest.

You led the effort to undereeducate our kids.

You watched as teachers risked their lives to teach on the 47th lowest salary in America.

Throughout that I still maintained a sliver of hope that you would do something as simple as ensuring our water does not have toxic sludge dumped in it- that if something happem you wouldn’t shrug your shoulders and ignore it.

That you would do something about buildings flooding in Miami.

That you would care enough about your hometown of Dunedin that you'd make sure they could survive this economic disaster you are creating.

What will it take for you to care about the world you leave your children?

I knew you would be a bad governor, but I thought you would at least be better than Rick Scott, you hadn't defrauded the U.S. Governornment of millions of dollars after all, nor had you covered up the hours long torturing and murder of a FL inmate.

I figured you would at least guarantee a basic degree of safety.

I guess my standards were too high for you.
